The Purse
It’s not always easy to look at a pattern and imagine what it would look like with different colors, different yarn, maybe even a different handle or size. One of my favorite things about crochet, or any handmade arts and crafts, is my own surprise at the final product. Sometimes I HATE it! Most of the time though, I’m pretty thrilled with the final item.
That was the case with this purse from The Perfect Knot, I got to be one of the testers for this pattern and I stuck with what I love, the combination of creamy whites and colorful changing yarn. The original pattern can be found here: Flower Power Bag.

Lovely purse. It’s the handles that I’m intrigued by, how did you make them that shape? And will they keep the shape or stretch? The whole thing is gorgeous though.
Hello Holly, thank you for your question. The handles are tightly crocheted tubes and they do stretch a little especially if you have a lot of stuff in the bag, but they don’t stretch out of shape or warp the purse when you’re wearing it.

The purse is gorgeous but what I love more about Madlandia is the use of color. You always go with combos that don’t seem like they should work but they do. Oh, they do. I also appreciate your humor.

I often struggle with choosibg the right colors for new patterns, and get myself more anxious than I need to be because I am usually happy with the end result.
