A pattern born from competition seems to be a good fit for me. This was one of the Design War challenges of the past and a fun project with a heavy yarn, called Medley yarn by Red Heart (now discontinued) but I have seen equivalent super chunky or super bulky yarns in the shops.
What I like about this pattern? Well, I like the style and the fit. It consists of one large square on the back and two large triangles on the front which makes it hug your shoulders and drape nicely over your arms. I also like the touch of wavy grace from the collar. It works up quickly, look pretty, and keeps you warm.
Now selling on Ravelry, here is my Life is a Tapestry capelet, my little ode to lovely cloaks and capelets I enjoy seeing at the Renaissance Faires.

Playing with patterns today.
I'm having the most difficult time focusing on what to do with the clay. It's weird. Beads? Charms? Earrings?More crochet hooks?

Working at a bead store has its perks.
I've started collecting beads that I have actual ideas for and I'm learning new techniques as well.
Everyone in the shop stacks their bracelets so I'm working to catch up.
