The designs you see here are created from polymer clay canes. I make these canes with a technique called Millefiori, mimicking Venetian glass work, by layering, wrapping and rolling colors together and then curing them in an oven.

This technique creates vivid, multi size pieces that I am able to use as appliques onto many different surfaces. Here, I’ve applied them to a hook, creating a one of a kind gift, from start to finish. Also, since there is no paint involved, the colors will not fade, wear off, or run. With continued use, the surface will patina into richer colors and a shinier surface as it absorbs the oils in your hands! This clay actually gets prettier with use.
